i absolutely love trying out different natural beauty products from various brands and i get excited every time i discover something new. but it doesn't stop with a product itself or it's performance because the ethos and history of a brand interests me as well. i recently bought a few products from natural beauty brand ere perez and got to try them myself for the very first time.
Ere, the founder grew up in mexico and discovered her love for makeup and skincare at a young age. one of her grandfathers was a traditional medicine man, practising natural remedies and teaching his granddaughter to do likewise. her other grandfather was a biochemist and passed on his knowledge about extraction, chemistry and formulations to her. when she moved to australia in 2000 she started working on her "natural makeup range that would nourish, protect, enhance and enable women to feel beautiful from the inside out".
The brands key commitments are natural ingredients, no animal testing and no child labour.
my sisters skin type is dry and sensitive so i prepped her skin with some rosehip oil from pai before using a little bit of the ere perez oat milk foundation in honey in the center. for the first look i applied the carrot color pot in happy on her cheeks and lips and lined her upper and lower lashline with the jojoba eye pencil in copper. the only other color i used on her eyes for both looks was a bit of bronzer blended into the eye pencil and up towards the brow bone.
for the second look i removed the color pot from her lips and replaced it with the beetroot cheek and lip tint in joy. what i love about this product is that it is inspired by ere's mum who used to give her beetroot to use as lipstick and blusher as a young girl.
i was amazed by the longevity of the eye pencil which stayed put the whole day we explored brighton together. it is super creamy and blendable as well. the carrot color pot is very easy to apply and only faded a little bit during the day. The foundation looked more and more beautiful the longer she wore it but the oil prep was necessary for her type of skin to wear this particular foundation. the lip tint has to be reapplied after a meal but i really wouldn't mind doing that considering the good ingredients that are in it.
